I describe my work as primitive contemporary.
Arch at The Polo Grounds, is a signage sculpture that introduces visitors to the park. On the front, below the name of the park, I painted a large image of a polo pony and rider as a silhouette looking back at the park, giving it an ephemeral quality. The back of the Arch has colorful horses representing the beautiful spirit of all the ponies that once played in the field below. On the side of the arch are baseball bats and a soccer ball sculpted in relief to show some of the games and sports that the park now offers. The sculpture is done in ceramic tiles over a cast in place cement arch.
